GMN College Ambala Cantt organized 3 programme to observe International Women’s Day. NCC Girls Wing of this college arranged a lecture on the topic “Women Achievers”. The eminent speaker for the event was Dr. Vijay Sharma, former ANO and HOD Hindi dept. in local S.D.Colleg.This event was organized under the able guidance of C.T.O. Dr. Tripti Sharma.
Dr. Vijay Sharma, in his enlightening address, highlighted the immense contribution of women in various fields ranging from politics, science, literature and sports to defense and administration. He emphasized on the struggles, resilience and achievements of women pioneers who have broken stereotypes and set remarkable examples for the society. Citing inspirational stories of renowned personalities, he motivated the students to strive for excellence and contribute towards nation-building.41 cadets attended the event.
B.Sc. Nursing students reached in Anganwadi of village Rolan under the leadership of Assistant Professors Jyoti Kumari and Seema Ran and presented a skit there depicting the psychological condition of women, especially their mental challenges in the context of marriage. On this occasion, Dr. Ram Lakhan Mali, Principal of G.M.N. College of nursing said, “We organize such programs from time to time, so that not only our students are aware, but also awareness can be spread in the society about women related issues’.
Women Cell of GMN College in collaboration with Management and Chemistry Departments organized Beauty Contest and fun activities for its students and teachers/non-teaching staff. The main attraction of the activity was various beauty contests like Make up Art, Saree Tying, Nail Art, Best out of Waste etc. where students showcased their talent, confidence. Quiz and Musical competitions were also organized for the teachers. Principal Dr. Rohit Dutt said, “International Women’s Day is a celebration of women’s empowerment and achievements, which should be celebrated with joy’. Coordinator of the Women’s Cell, Dr. Neha thanked Dr. Bharti, Dr. Amita, Dr. Saroj, Dr. Niyati, and Dr. Neena for cooperation.
