Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij held public meetings in several wards across Tangri in Ambala Cantonment for the Municipal Council elections and sought votes for the BJP Pradhan candidate Swarn Kaur and BJP candidates from all 32 wards.He said, ‘If BJP councilors win the elections development will reach every street and locality without any hindrance.
This evening, he held a public meeting in favour of BJP’s Ward No. 11 candidate Aanchal Saini in Rampur-Sarsehdi, Ward No. 12 Pooja Vihar candidate Satish Dhiman, Ward No. 13 Prabhu Prem Puram Ritu Sharma and Ward No. 14 candidate Naresh Sharma near Tangri Dam. Apart from this, he participated in the tea program of candidate Reena Shakya from Ward No. 2.
During this he said that he is building a dam for protection from water in the Tangri river Par area, which will be built up to the railway line. Dam on Mahesh Nagar on the river has already been strengthened and a road has been built there..
Cabinet Minister said that he worked alone for so many years because the Municipal Council elections were not held. He cannot keep an eye on every street, locality, road, drain alone, but he tried to a great extent. He got roads, drains, street lights installed in the entire city. He was trying to pull the chariot of development alone for a long time. He now needs allies to ensure that development work reaches every street and every house. If his allies win the Municipal Council elections, development will reach every street and every locality. There is a BJP government in the center and the state, the MLA and minister from Ambala Cantonment are from BJP. If there will be BJP Pradhan and councillors in the Municipal Council in future, then development work will be done without any hindrance. He appealed to the public to make BJP’s Pradhan candidate Swarn Kaur and BJP candidates from 32 wards win. By taking land out of the jaws of Congress, we built a wonderful Subhash Park in 22 acres: Cabinet Minister Anil Vij. He explained that
when Bhajan Lal was the Chief Minister, there was a 22-acre Diggi of John sahib right near the Tribune Colony, this land was registered in the name of the Congress people for just 50 rupees per yard, which was not available even for thousands of rupees per yard. But then the Congress people had the freedom to loot and He fought and won the case in the High Court and took the land out of the jaws of Congress and built the best Subhash Park in Haryana today.
Energy and Transport Minister Anil Vij, while speaking in the meetings, said that no national or regional party could dare to field its candidates against the BJP candidates and ran away from the field. Not a single candidate has been able to stand on the election symbol of these parties. A few independent candidates are standing.
He said Ambala Cantonment was a place where no one ever did any development and eyes were yearning for it. People here were waiting with hope that some development work should be done in our city too. He got Ambala-Saha road made four lane, ring road is being completed, Subhash Park and new grain market have been built. Shahidi Smarak is being built in the memory of the martyrs of 1857. The first freedom struggle of independence started from the cantonment in 1857. After this revolution took place in the whole country in Meerut, Delhi and other places. But till date no one has ever paid tribute to them or remembered them. He fought for 20 years to build a martyrs memorial and today Asia’s largest memorial is being built here.
Mr Vij said people had to go to Ambala City for small works, he made the cantonment a sub-division and got SDM Secretariat built in the cantonment where today 30 government offices are working in one building. For the youth who are interested in sports, international level football stadium, all weather swimming pool, gymnastic hall, badminton hall were constructed.
Cabinet Minister said that he is constructing a Bank Square in Ambala Cantonment where many banks of the cantonment will be under one roof. He is constructing a domestic air port in Ambala Cantonment and as soon as the elections are over, flight services will start from Ambala Cantonment. Flight services from Ambala to Ayodhya, Srinagar, Jammu and Lucknow will start soon. The city which gets an air port gets wings of development.
During these meetings a large number of people and BJP workers were present and workers leaving various parties also joined BJP.
