Students of Social Work Dept. Punjab University attended a workshop at Ambala City

A one day training workshop was organized for the students of Department of Social Work (Master of Social Work-1st Year) of Punjab University at ‘Zila Yuva Vikas Sangthan’ Ambala. The workshop was chaired by Organization President Paramjit Singh Badola, who informed the students about the work being done by the organization in the fields of education, health, women empowerment, child protection etc. and also told about the establishment and registration process of the organization. Social activities like Nanhi Chaupal, Sachi Saheli Mission, Mission Green, Blood Donation Camp and Health Checkup Camp conducted by the organization were also discussed.

During the workshop, the students were taken on a visit to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) under the leadership of Project Coordinator Ajay Tiwari, where CWC Chairperson Ranjita Sachdeva informed the students about the functioning of CWC, schemes related to child protection and their rights. After this, the students were taken on a visit to Vita Milk Plant, Ambala City, where Organization President Paramjit Singh Badola informed about the functioning and quality standards of the plant.

In this workshop, it was told that the organization “Just Rights for Children” is working in collaboration with the organization “Project Access to Justice” to eliminate child marriage, child labor and protect the rights of children in Ambala, Panchkula, Yamunanagar and Chandigarh. Under this project, the organization is working in collaboration with various government agencies to protect the rights of children, awareness campaigns and rehabilitation of affected children.

Ajay Tiwari, Hardeep Singh, Rubal were present in this workshop. In the end, Prashant Sharma, Field Supervisor of the Department of Social Work, Punjab University, while motivating the students towards social service, praised the work being done by the Zila Yuva Vikas Sangthan  and said that the organization has been active in social service for the last 19 years and is always ready to help people at the grassroots level. At the end of the workshop, the students shared their experiences and praised this valuable training given by the organization.
